"In the beginning was The Light, but The Dark rose against The Light and waged war upon it."
The elder faith of Triunism is one of balance. An ancient religion long forgotten by the people of Mortalum. However the core of Triunism is the belief in the three elder gods. Eternal beings of nigh omnipotent power and majesty. They are The Light, The Dark and The Grey, incarnations of creation, destruction and transformation. The Creator is said to have formed our world out of ethereal chaos and established order among the cosmos. The Light is the beginning of all things and the source of all life. The Destroyer is the great ending, The Dark that haunts the whole of creation. An eater of worlds who seeks to corrupt and consume us all. A shadow that returns the cosmos to chaos. The Grey is the incarnation of the cosmos itself, she is the world manifested in all it's glory. Representing the journey between the beginning and the end. The mother of spirits and weaver of fate, a bringer of transformation and renewal. Together, these three elder gods represent the story of our world. The beginning, the middle and the end.
Ruled over by the High Archon, the imperial church preaches the worship of Parem'Zel, The Mortal God. A mortal man who lived some six hundred years ago who united realm under one kingdom. The original holy tablet of Parem passed down from one High Archon to the next, always choosing their successor. Said to have been carved by The Mortal God himself, telling the story of his path to divinity, his absolute mastery over all forms of magic and his reign as the 1st king of the realm. Uniting the remnants of the mortal races together as one people. Upon his death, it is said the heavens opened and his soul ascended beyond the spirits who welcomed him. Because of this, those who worship the spirits and lesser gods are mocked by the imperial church. Believing The Mortal God as the ultimate savior of mortals. The ascended supreme god of the cosmos. Because of this, those of the royal Zel family being direct descendants of a divine bloodline are revered and respected. Their right to rule being just, righteous and absolutely unquestionable. While some royals follow this faith more zealously then others. It is a generally accepted truth throughout the kingdom that the royal bloodline is of divine heritage. How ultimate in authority that is, is often open to debate. Though not the only faith in Mortalum, nor even the most dominant. It is always endorsed by various noble and royal members of the "Zel" family.
The official religion of the drayke. All drayke religion revolves around a central deity- the Queen of Heaven as they call her. What name she had before she came to them is unknown, and even outside scholars are uncertain as to her provenance. She has existed as the living god-queen of the drayke people for nine hundred years, and until recently, she was as tangible and present as the stones of her city. The Queen herself was a silent, motionless dragon of brilliant sky-blue scales coiled within the highest temple of the Throne, perpetually attended by a dozen dragon blooded priestesses. The Queen herself was as large as a castle, yet she neither ate nor drank nor seemed to breathe for years on end. Very occasionally, no more than once every few decades, she would open her lambent eyes and speak a few sentences of guidance. Such was the force of her presence that none dreamed it possible to disobey. The Queen did not answer petitions or provide oracles to her priestesses; she was their goddess and she would tell them what they needed to know. What they needed to know was the purpose of their existence as drake. They were to be living crucibles in which would be forged the souls of celestial dragons, blessed servants of the gods and their right hands in the world. By living according to the Five Talons of Truth, even the humblest of drayke could hope to some day be reincarnated into the flesh of a mighty dragon. The Five Talons are known to every drayke and they form the basic principles of their ancient society and culture.
The First Talon is Obedience, the chief and noblest virtue. Obedience first to the Queen of Heaven, second to the priestesses, and third to those set above you. Some heretics argue that the original intent of this Talon granted divine authority only to the Queen of Heaven herself, but common belief is that dispute of a priestess' word is itself a sin.
The Second Talon is Purity, the avoidance of defilement and concupiscence. Lying, sexual infidelity, and gluttony are among the things to be shunned by an aspiring drake. Sins against purity are marked out by the way they taint the drake herself by the performance, and show an unwillingness to bow before the spiritual. Some priestesses and war leaders have been known to stretch this point uncomfortably, and a quiet counter-doctrine of "Spirit Chastity" has risen that claims that suitable proof of purity is such that no lesser indulgence can efface it… and so obedience to this principle is not necessary for the truly elect.
The Third Talon is Discipline, the capacity to focus one's will on a purpose and follow it without flinching. Any who would aspire to wield the power of the gods must be focused and clear-minded, capable of carrying out a duty no matter how demanding it may be. The nobler-minded among the pious draw strength from this to face their daily trials and carry out their duties, though some sophists claim that discipline is instead the power to make others do as you will- since it is obviously superior that you should bring many hands to your task rather than just yours alone.
The Fourth Talon is Discernment, and the power to judge wisely between difficult alternatives. An envoy of the gods must inevitably make difficult choices in carrying out the will of the divine, and these choices must be made wisely. Not even the tenderest compassion may be permitted to interfere with clear reason when choosing between two necessities; the will of the Queen must be done. Some whisper that certain priestesses can discern the worthiness of those who tithe abundantly to them more easily than they can perceive the worthiness of the poor.
The Fifth Talon is Devotion, the will to love and cherish all the Queen's children and the world that is the dragon's charge. Any being entrusted with the husbanding of the winds and the tending of the seas must be moved by love for its duties. This love is considered chiefly to apply to other drake, though some theologians say it is also due any other creatures who revere the Queen and honor her duty. The matter has been chiefly philosophical until the recent opening of the valley.
Long ago in the first age, before mortals had received the gift of wisdom, there were the immortal spirits. Ethereal beings of immense power. But these spirits were nameless and without purpose. Born of the union between The Light and The Grey. But a great battle took place that shook the whole of creation to its foundations. The Dark rose against The Light and waged war upon him. The world eaters corruption turning many of these spirits to wickedness. But The Grey was tired of her brothers conflict. So the eternal goddess sundered creation and divided the cosmos. These nameless spirits given their own domains according to their predestined roles. To ensure the balance upon this new order, The Grey infused some of these spirits with greater power and authority. This new class of spirits, were the Eldari, known then as the primordials, lesser gods in their own right. It is the Eldari who are most often worshiped by mortals as gods. The eternal triune deities of The Light, The Dark and The Grey were slowly forgotten as the ascended children of The Grey came into their own. Primordial guardians of this new order.
Often worshiped as a bringer of truth and lord of divine justice. A keeper of heavenly law and the holy archangel of arcadia. Mightiest of the archon's, outshining all lesser angels. Joyfully caught in a cosmic dance with his sister Lunia. Equally dividing the day from the night so that balance is maintained.
Worshiped as the silver queen of the Stellir. Stuck in the grand cosmic dance with her brother Solus. Seen as a seeker of the lost and forgotten. Those who loose their way in life and in travel call upon her for direction and guidance. Communicating through heavenly omens and fallen stars.
Supreme lord of the Sylph, this faerie king of the air is worshiped by all who seek true freedom in their lives. As a bringer of storms, his wrath breaks every chain. To follow Anhur is to follow the desires of ones own heart. His followers are called to break free from the constraints placed upon them by mortal laws and live without restraint, casting away the control that others seek to have over you.
Queen of all selkie, this faerie queen is often worshiped by naiad, as well as sailors. Any who cross the sea are expected to show Hythia proper respect. The depths of the sea and all that lives within it are under her domain and she guards it jealously. Her mysteries of the deep revealed to the worthy.

Those who worship her, are often druids and hunters of wild game. Called upon to show proper respect to nature. Animals are to be killed fairly and every part of the kill to be used with purpose. Never killing beasts of the wild purely for entertainment.
Another lady of elemental origin, often worshiped as either the four sisters in vibrant dresses of their season, or four aspects of her personality. Everything lives, dies and is recycled and reborn. She is a bringer of change, both in nature and in mortal lives. There is a cycle of life that must be upheld and those who worship her are called to be adaptable in their daily lives. Nothing is static and everything is always moving forward. Her followers hold onto the hope of renewel and the spring to come.
Celestial lord of all tempori. Worshiped primarily by practitioners of the magical arts. Though various historians, philosophers and lore keepers have been known to be active followers of Odarune. Seen as a neutral deity and a keeper of secrets. Odarune serves no one, wants no one, seeks no one, cares for no one. His followers are merely students, seeking to learn from his wisdom. Priests of Odarune teach that he knows the names of all mortals and bends their fates to his will.
The devilish prince of the infernal djinn. Deceiver of the masses and ultimate prankster of the cosmos. While he isn't worshiped as an evil deity, he is seen as a father of lies and lord of thieves, pirates and criminals. Those who follow him are often trouble makers and followers of Negal are called to unleash chaos upon the land, finding joy and laughter in the struggles of life.
High lady of healers and herbalists, the sick and the dying will often call upon her for miraculous healing. Her priests teaching that those who live virtuously and seek purity in their actions and motivations will be saved. While the wicked are purged from their midst through plague, famine and war, the righteous of heart shall be healed and their lives restored when tragedy strikes.
Lord of the veil and king of wraiths. Shadar is worshiped as the grim reaper, the supreme judge of the dead. While his followers are few, priests of shadar often teach that death is a gift. Immortality is a curse from which insanity and wickedness are born. They are fiercely against necromancy and utterly hateful of the undead. Purging the world of those who would seek to escape judgement.
Prince of hellhounds and cambions, Duloth is one of the least worshiped deities in Mortalum. Cultists of Duloth are few in number, but they tend to worship him as a father figure. A strict and unyielding patriarch, with no patience for weakness. War, sickness, hunger, plague, famine, grief, pain and all manner of suffering is merely a tool that this dark father uses to strengthen his children. Suffering creates endurance and teaches those who follow him that pain has a purpose. The weak shall fade into nothing, but those who are stoic in the face of pain shall endure to the end.
Azalith The Defiler Goddess of Corruption & Monsters
The wicked queen of monsters, mistress of the abyss. All abyssal spirits are under her sway and her corruption infests the world in every aspect of life. This eldritch abomination of a goddess is by far the most hated of the Eldari. Seen as the enemy of mortal life. Those select few who for whatever reason choose to follow her are called to unleash havok and mayhem wherever they go. From her, dark magic such as necromancy is born and it's secrets revealed to those who accept her in their lives.
The Feldain are a group of dark elven zealots. Blessed by the Eldari Goddess Azalith, the queen of monsters. Possessed and transformed into some of the most powerful Shades the mortal world has ever seen. Six riders of shadow and infused with eldritch power. Demigods in their own right, these immortals have lived for nearly one thousand years. Necromancers of immense skill, and might, the possessing spirits within them eternally bound to their wicked souls. Gifting them psionic abilities that even the greatest of mystics would fear to behold. Once servants of the dreaded Lich King, created by his hand under the direction of the dark goddess. The Feldain were defeated during the great calamity six centuries ago. Sealed away within a crypt in the depths of the dwarven ruins of Mithua. Awaiting the day when a new Lich King would rise and call upon them to serve.

Astralism The Northern Faith
A mysterious and obscure religion followed primarily by the northern tribes of moon elves, blue orcs and humans who wander these frozen lands. Often seen as heretical star worshipers by the imperial church, the truth of their ancient traditions is not quite as heretical as they think. Astralism is not an organized religion, but rather a folk religion. A collection of ancient traditions, beliefs and superstitions, all with a heavy influence of animism and reverence of the moon, stars and constellations. While different tribes and clans throughout glacia may emphasize one aspect of Astralism over another, there are six distinct doctrines that remain the same across the whole region.
Animism: The doctrine of animism teaches that while mortal souls are darkened and corrupt, the spirits of animals and plants are pure and must be respected. Ascending into the astral sea to give light, guidance and wisdom to the mortal realm. Every type of creature requires their own unique death rites and purification rituals before they can be eaten. Making hunting a sacred act that forces hunters to give proper reverence to the hunted animals spirit as it ascends. All life is sacred within Astralism and to kill without purpose or waste that kill without offering the proper respect is a grave sin. Purification: While the spirits of nature are pure and are born again as stars in the sky upon their death, the souls of mortals are not. Within the heart of every mortal soul is a deep shadow that must be overcome and purified if one ever hopes to ascend after death. Those with darkened souls passing into the veil to await judgment. Purification of the soul is no easy task however. Often requiring regular meditation, purging the mind of corrupt thought. Fear is the force that darkens the soul, thus the only way to purify it is to remove fear from ones life. There are various rites and rituals performed by Astral Shamans of the north meant to prepare the soul of one who is dying. But ultimately, only by purging all traces of fear from ones life, can they ascend and be reborn as a star in the sky. Ascendance: To ascend into the astral sea and be reborn as a star in the sky is the ultimate goal of every devout follower of Astralism. While such ascensions are rare, they do happen occasionally to those who are truly worthy. Thus many tribes and clans of the north pray to and worship their ascended ancestors. The presence of a shooting star upon their death being the omen of ascendance and the mark of passage between realms. Those exceptional few who have been blessed by such an omen upon their death are revered by their family.Ritualism: There are numerous rituals and spoken rites that are performed by northerners. Many focusing on warding away bad luck and evoking prosperity and success in their lives. The effectiveness of these rituals are untested by the outside world. Though the superstitious nature of northerners leads many who believe to make every effort in following these rituals. Every clan or tribe has their own unique superstitions and rituals. Many for war, harvest, hunting, birth, death, marriage and leadership.Virtue: There are twelve constellations within the world of mortalum, and each of them represent a unique virtue to Astral Shamans. Truth, Justice, Honor, Courage, Temperance, Charity, Humility, Diligence, Integrity, Wisdom, Tranquility and Mercy. To embrace all twelve of these virtues in ones life and live by them to the fullest is the only true path to ascension after death. Mastery over all twelve virtues are required to conquer fear and purge it from the soul. Omens: Followers of Astralism are known to believe in all manner of both spiritual and natural omens. It is the Astral Shamans who are elders of their clan or tribe that interpret these omens. Some omens come in the form of dreams, some come in the form of disasters, some in the form of signs in the heavens. These omens when gathered together in succession are signs. Every sign or omen giving insight into the future. Warning of danger or promising prosperity. Thus an Astral Shamans ability to correctly interpret signs and omens is extremely important to their people. Those who fail to interpret correctly are often shunned as fools or false prophets.

The Accursed Ones are a pantheon of five lesser gods. Spirits of ancestral origin who originated as ancient, artificial Vuhdai that grew to divine levels of power. Created by the thousands of merged spirits of a single bloodline's ancestors. The chaos of voices becoming perfectly unified into a singular consciousness. Each with their own unique domains and personalities.
Sanguis
Spirit of Blood
Formed roughly six thousand years ago. Sanguis is known as a god of blood, murder and ritual sacrifice. It is from the mind of Sanguis that Hemomancy was discovered and developed by ancient blood mages. In time, Sanguis was adopted as the patron god of vampires by the nine elders of their kind. Hemomancers would quickly learn to revere him in the same way. However his cult welcomes all who revel in bloodshed and violence.
Thrish
Spirit of Famine
Formed some four and half thousand years ago. Revered within primar as a goddess of agriculture, fertility and the harvest. While not as aggressive as the others, she is known to hold a grudge against those who refuse to give her the ritual offerings she deserves. As an old and petty spirit, those who disrespect her gifts of abundance will find their crops decayed, cattle starved and homes infested with pests.
Khalfu
Spirit of Plague
Formed roughly five thousand years ago. Khalfu is a fiercely judgmental god, known to unleash terrible sicknesses upon those he deems cruel. Khalfu is not a god of healing... he is a punisher of wickedness. Unleashing his plagues and diseases upon those who fall into depravity. He especially hates those who defile themselves with necromancy. Often planting seeds of sickness upon corpses of the dead as traps for grave robbers.
Oshune Spirit of Avarice
Formed roughly four thousand years ago. Oshune has long been seen as a greedy deity. Not only a god of misfortune and bad luck, but a god of wealth. He is the youngest of the Accursed, often called upon by her followers to steal from others. Because of this he is often worshiped as a patron of thieves and criminals. Her teachings are one of pure wanting. If you want something, you take it. What's yours is mine and what's mine is also mine.
Eshael Spirit of Lust
Formed roughly six and half thousand years ago. Eshael is by far the oldest among the Accursed pantheon. A dark goddess of passion, love and wicked desire. Many would pray to and evoker her name in the hope of having the partner they want. Undergoing dark love rituals to infuse a fierce lust and desire in the lovers her followers wish to make their own.

HEARTHISM The five ascended clans of the Drugar give reverence to the fire at the heart of the world. The hearth, a powerful impersonal force at the core of Mortalum that binds the physical world together. According to their mythology, The Hearth gave birth to the dwarves as it smelted the earth around it. Forging their shape and infusing them with life through the power of its holy flame.
The Order of the Hearth is the primary dwarven priesthood responsible for learning and passing down the mythical history and stories of their kind. A tradition of oral story telling that has lasted for many thousands of years. Because of this members of the priesthood are often elected as clan elders and consolers of the high council. Thus their influence over drugar culture is vast.
To The Order, this sacred knowledge is more important then anything. Guarding the deep lore and mythology of their people and often spending decades memorizing these stories by heart. Story telling in itself become a holy art form that has become highly respected among the five ascended drugar clans.
This priesthood is known for embarking on pilgrimages to ruined drugar cities. The deacons of the order having called for several crusades to reclaim their lost homelands in search for the primal relics. Ancient artifacts infused with the holy fire of The Hearth. Forged soon after the dwarves ascendance to the surface.
While very few of these Hearth Flames were taken with them during their journey to ascendance. The Order of The Hearth believes in the sacred almost divine nature of these relics and will do anything to reclaim those which are lost to history. Currently only two of these relics remain in their possession. But there are scholars who believe more primal relics can be found in the forgotten treasure hordes of Mithua, Khoran and Rotheim.
