GIANT FOLK
Stone Giant | Frost Giant | Fire Giant | Hill Giant | Troll | Ogre
STONE GIANTS: By far the tallest known species of giants next to the titans. Standing at roughly 25-30 ft tall. Although they appear to be made of rocks, its actually just the color and texture of their skin that gives them their stony appearance. Allowing them to camouflage, blending into their mountain homeland with ease. They are the least aggressive and most solitary of all known giant species, only attacking if they themselves are threatened.
FROST GIANTS: Inhabitants of the glacian wilds, divided into rival warring tribes, always in constant conflict with the nomadic tribes that also resides in the area. Standing at roughly 16-18 ft tall with pure white hair and teal blue skin, they are the most aggressive and territorial species of giant. Frost giants have an immense distaste for magic of all kinds. Preferring a warrior life style instead of relying on mystical help.
FIRE GIANTS: Also called Fel Giants or Hell Giants by surface dwellers. Inhabitants of the felands, deep underground. Fire giants while being the rarest known species of giant, are also the least understood. Only a couple thousand of them are known to exist and yet they have fought numerous wars against their hated foe the dark dwarfs. Standing at roughly 16-18 ft tall, with red or orange hair and deep crimson red skin. Slightly lighter skin tones, though rare, are also known to exist.
HILL GIANTS: The most common and widely known species of giant throughout the land. Wandering the wilderness in small family clans made up 10-20 individuals. Having the basic appearance of an ordinary human, just 13-15 ft tall and strong enough to use large trees as clubs. Able to live up to five hundred years old. Over the last century, families of hill giants have descended into the lowlands. Slowly inching their way towards the outskirts of the empire. It only takes a single clan of hill giants to topple a decent sized village or small town making them greatly hated in mortalum.
TROLLS: Roughly 10-12 ft tall, females typically being slightly taller then males. They primarily residing deep within swamps, riverlands and other damp and wet regions. Living up to two hundred years. Troll dens are filthy places, ruled by a matriarch called a trollop, who is often a warlock in possession of some limited kind of magical power. These females seeming to have a greater appetite for sentient flesh. Trolls initially seem to be somewhat shorter, due to their sagging shoulders and tendency to hunch forward. They walk with an uneven gait, and their long limbed arms dangle and drag the ground when running. Despite this apparent awkwardness, trolls are quite agile and wont hesitate to either cannibalize each other, or eat passing travelers.
OGRES: Ogres appeared as giant humanoids with very muscular bodies and large heads roughly 8-9 ft tall. Being the smallest and least intelligent of all giant species, able to live up to a century. They tend to be lazy and sluggish, preferring to rely on ambush and overwhelming numbers in battle. Ogres are notorious for their quick tempers, which flare at the smallest perceived offense. Insults and name calling can rouse an ogre's wrath in an instant. Ogres eat almost anything, but they especially enjoy the taste of humans. Often being the reason for the fall of many mountainous cities as they reside primarily in mountainous caves and are often found wandering through old ruins.
