Grimone follows no god and seeks no peace, he only desires knowledge, wisdom and power. The power to defend those he loves. Once upon a time he was weak and because of that people died, never again. In his mind, his quest for power is not selfish, it is necessary. Grimone is a forgotten prince of the royal family, from centuries past and is infamous throughout the kingdom. Commoners know him as "The Black Wizard" due to his mastery over the darker side of high magic. He will often sell his services to those willing to pay. Calling forth the spirits of loved ones from the dead to say their final goodbyes, some guilds and mercenary companies have even called upon his help in the past, requiring his help and knowledge as a master sorcerer. His mastery of abyssal sorcery has even lead to him being inducting into the Order of Arcanis. Taking his place as one of the five master archmages of the Triune Isles. Establishing him as the lord of Lethon, a smaller town under the dominion of the newly independent magocracy, as well as lordship over the island its located on.
(TEMPERAMENT)
Grimone is not evil at heart, though his obsession with defeating death has often caused heart break of those around him. He has compassion for the weak and as a nomad wandering the country side has been known to assist those in need. Even defending travelers from monsters when necessary. He seeks greater power out of a desire to keep those he cares about safe. He has no hatred of weakness, but he simply refuses to allow himself to become so. He is a man that wants to be loved, but knows he never will be. Love is a weakness he desperately desires but knows he can not afford. As his enemies could use his attachments against him.

Enchanting (High Magic) - Grimone is capable of ritually summoning and capturing, spirits to bind them to an object. Allowing him to create various enchantments and enchanted items. However it is a time consuming process and extremely dangerous depending on the spirit he binds. He specializes in dealing with Abyssal spirits, but occasionally dabbles lesser ancestral and infernal spirits to a limited degree.
Hex Bag (High Magic) - A common practice among skilled sorcerers, carrying a bag of small low quality gems which can be individually enchanted with lesser spirits. Allowing for various single use spells. However such enchanted gems will shatter after the spell is cast, forcing them to find new gems to replace them. Many of Grimone's hexed gems are enchanted with lesser abyssal spirits. Focused primarily on powers of necromancy.
Eldritch Staff (High Magic) - A powerful sharpened staff that doubles as a spear. Enchanted with the power of an ancient abyssal spirit, a long dead eldritch abomination. Captured by his great grandfather on his mothers side over a thousand years ago. Passing the staff down through the generations. Forged from elementum, this staff allows him to temporarily consume the spell of an enemy and reverse it, turning it against them. However when countering a spell of equivalent power to the abyssal spirit, it is merely nullified and unable to be reversed against the caster.

Ring of Authority (High Magic) - A silver steel ring on his right hand with a single polished amethyst enchanted with a lesser wraith. Enchanted by himself, this ring allows him to both sense the presence and spirits and enchanted items near him. As well as summon, contain, bind and banish such spirits through means of exorcism. Lesser/weaker spirits can be commanded for a short period of time. Unenchanting enchanted items by banishing the spirit bound to it is much more difficult and typically requires significant time of constant attention and focus. The older and more powerful the spirit bound to the item, the more effort, focus and time it takes.
Ring of The Veil (High Magic) - A silver steel ring on his left hand with a single polished sapphire, enchanted with a lesser wraith, a lesser servant of Shadar. Enchanted by himself, this ring allows him to shadow travel by temporarily passing through the veil of the dead. Within the veil, time runs much slower, roughly one minute within the veil equals barely a few seconds in Mortalum. Allowing him to seemingly teleport short distances in a matter of seconds. However if he remains within the veil for too long, native ghosts will attack him out of hatred for the living.
Thorned Amulet (High Magic) - A seal of the royal family of Overna. Enchanted with a lesser infernal cambion. Radiates an aura of fear and despair that immobilizes the weak willed. Typically only used against relatively weak enemies.

Dragon Leather Cloak - Alchemically infused black dragon hide crafted into a hooded cloak. As light as silk but as strong as steel. Grants him greater protection and resistance to both extreme heat and extreme cold.
Padded Leather Armor - Padded leather beneath his cloak offering basic protection against blades and other such weapons.
Silvered Steel Dagger - A jewel encrusted ten inch silvered steel dagger strapped to his waist and typically only used as a last resort. A gift from his father and while not enchanted, he has used it in combat many times.

(BACKGROUND)
Raised solely by his mother, Grimone was given the best education money could buy due to his relation to the royal family. Shipped off to Arcanis and chosen by the Archmage of abyssal sorcery at a young age to apprentice under him. He quickly came to excel in the arcane arts of high magic. It was at the academy as an apprentice that he found his deep love of healing. Eventually becoming one of the greatest known healers throughout the continent of Mortalum. Wielding the powers of evil spirits to do good for others.
At the age of forty-four and forty-five, his father the king and his dark elven mother both died only a year apart after an mysterious assassination attempt. He was heart broken and powerless to save them. His mother died last and on her death bed, gifted him with his infamous eldritch staff. An family relic passed down from his great grandfather on his mothers side. Discovering that his mothers family had a deep history of magic users spurned him on even further in his obsession with finding greater power.
Grimone traveled all across the continent as a nomad. Focused on his seeking greater power. But time and time again those he came to love and care about were taken by death. For over a century, the infamous black wizard has wandered the land in search of the power to defeat death itself. Turning towards magic of a darker nature. He wished for the power of true resurrection. Not as some undead monstrosity, but to bring them back fully alive. Such a power is believed not to exist in this world, but only time will tell if Grim will achieve his ultimate quest. His singular purpose has become his eternal crusade against death itself. Finding the cure for death is his ultimate prize.
