(BELIEFS)
Explorer and inventor in heart, Nix craves to see the world and what it has to offer. While some could call him arrogant, even troublesome, these character traits are usually aimed at those whose money had festered in their heads for too long. To the common man he's kind, patient, loves a good laugh and rarely says no if asked for help. Being a man of his word, the young Serpent rarely backs down on his word.

(PROFESSION)
A master alchemist and professional engineer hobbyist, Nix has been mixing potion before understanding what he was doing, as well as, putting together odd gadgets from mechanical scraps he could find. These days people come to the man for three reasons, to get a healing remedy for lost limbs, when in need of extremely big explosions or to buy an odd gathet or two.

(TEMPERAMENT)
Slightly hot blooded that won't take insults to himself or anyone he cares about. Nix is definitelly a person with a tendency to adopt lonely people in his flying workshop. Most would describe the alchemist as kind and caring, even if amongst the rich he will most likely be the biggest pain in the a**.
(KNOWN MAGIC)
Alchemy (with speciality in potioncrafting) - Being a avid learner as well, as the only magic caster of his home village, the man was forced to pick up every aspect of what some call "low-magic". Nix can proudly say that he's quite adept at herbalism, as well as, manacrafting, though, for complicated situations he will always turn to his potions. While, at this point, Nix has learned how to make most low and middle grade potions from ingredients around himself, greater potions will require time and resources to make. Every greater potion used need to be referenced by a crafting thread. The list will be edited as new ideas will be generated:
Alchemical ammunition - Since the creation of gunpowder Nix has been working ammo that could infuse his potions through his gun. So far he has managed to transfer simple elemental effects in a bullet.
Bombs - Different shape glass vials that become active once an activater has been added. As any other potion, bomb effects vary depending on their strength but, in most cases, they react upon impact.
- Slime specialist (Technique) - Through his experiments Nix has learned how to make pseudo-life, slimes and oozes. These living blobs are mixture of different natural ingredients and mana crystals, made obidient with a small amount of their creators blood. Depending on the grade of slime also changes their abilities. Low level slimes would be ressitant to mundain slashing weapons, have an above average strength and be slow. The last point could be reversed, though, it would also cost the slime its strength. At the size of a hound, they don't possess much threat, though, they can become deadly when in a swarm. Middle class slimes have the base line strength and ressitance, but now also has two more quirks, depending on the situation. Great slimes are monsters no one would expect alchemy being able to make. They have multiple traits, mixed abilities and possibly can even have limited magic. In no situation would more than two greater slimes co-exist.
Bombs - Different shape glass vials that become active once an activater has been added. As any other potion, bomb effects vary depending on their strength but, in most cases, they react upon impact.
(EQUIPMENT)
Steel dragon - Once the news about gunpowder reached Nix he began learning everything possible regarding it, in result creating a gun like no other. It's relatively light, so it can be used with one hand, and is built in such way it can hold eight, custom made bullets. With exception of mid-grade magic shields, he still hasn't found a material this invention can't get through. The man's aim is also getting better by each day.
Dragon leather outfit - His work/adventuring outfit is fully made of alchemically treated dragon leather so it could keep Nix safe from most of his lab accidents.
Alchemical silver sword - A silver sword that has been treated with alchemical liquids. With no magic involved the swords blade changes temperature depending on the catalyst Nix pours over it.
Flying pharmacy/workshop "Serpent's Remedies" - Many people would call it Nix's greatest invention, though, he doesn't believe his this being his limits. This is a workshop put on a giant platform and made airborn. While the inside of the building is enchanted by tempori, so it would feel that the house is on land, everything else is just high-class engineering. Rarely known, aside from the properlers and wings for flying, the platform also has a set of spider legs for land travel additional floats built in when sailing. There are 8 canons around the platform, as well as, Nix is working on a project now on how to make a gun that can rapidly shoot bullets.

(BACKGROUND)
Nix was raised in a tiny village inside Greenwood. They say he was left as a babe in the middle of night by a beautiful brunet (or blond, or red-head, it differs depending on who says the story) that disappeared in screams and green smoke. Nix can't say if he believes this story even if it does make his whole "turning snake-ish" curse explainable.
Anyway, the boy was left to the old alchemist (at that time not so old), who took a good care of him. Was it wise to leave a child in a house full of dangerous substances? Of course, no, but the you can't say that there are many smart people in a village, named "Bjorg". It makes no sense, even if it was the founder's name.
The boy loved the alchemist, his father figure, as well as, the whole village. What he loved more, though, was alchemy. At age of six Nix already started sneaking out with some of his old man's vials to mix them and make trouble with other village boys, side note, one boy and one very tomboy-ish girl. After couple of very smelly rot puddles the alchemist decided to somehow control his son's curiosity and started to teach him the basics of alchemy, both herbalism, as well as, potion crafting.
To no ones surprise, old Agnes is still telling everyone she fortold this, Nix absorbed information like a sponge. It was less that he remembered the specific formulas and more that he caught on the principal of how alchemy worked. This, of course, meant the next 8 years there wouldn't be a day when something wasn't melting or burning in the forest. The local ranger wasn't happy.
By the age of sixteen he was already quite skillful in the craft. It had gotten to the point where his adoptive father had decided that he will retire and give the reins to his workshop to Nix. It was also around the time the young Serpent, last name given to him by him, found a crashed dwarven flying ship. No one had survived it, the locals burying the dead in a little plot next to their own graveyard. Some time was spent waiting for someone from the kingdom to come investigate but no such thing happened and soon the young adult was all over the ships remains, exploring to his heart's content.
Not only did he find a considerable amount of gold in the deepest reaches of the metal monstrosity, he also ended up finding the extensive records and notes of the ships mechanic and his apprentice. If not for the other villagers Nix would have probably starved to death while going through all the notes, trying out different mechanics and, piece by piece, dismantling the remains of the air ship.
Two years later and Serpent's father died, leaving him the villages pharmacy that had been turned into a pseudo workshop as well. Not only the locals were depending on the young male's medical skills for survival, he had started improving their houses and tools with either his own inventions or things learned from the dwarven ship. This was the only reason why they were able to pay their taxes, as the last year, do to the many conflicts, had experienced astronomic increase in taxes. It was hard on everyone.
As years went on the people of the village grew older and older, most young ones leaving for the big cities. Once the village elder got too old he gave the position to Nix, who had become a sort of corner stone for their whole community. The man kept coming up with new inventions and even with the whole moving around, the workshop was now portable, he visited often and kept in touch to manage his home village. Lately, though, the local ruling power has gotten greedier and greedier, making the alchemist extraordinarily concerned.
